Neoalgae had the pleasure of participating in the event “Naval Azul, the new gateway to the sea”, held on [optional event date] and organized by the City Council. This gathering brought together companies, institutions, and professionals committed to advancing the blue economy and fostering sustainable innovation. Our representative, Fidel Delgado, took part in one of the key round tables of the day: “The sea as a source of economic development.”

The session featured prominent voices from different segments of the marine sector, including Ignacio Franganillo from Briseida Sea Ventures; Antonio Ferreirós from Sea Eight; and Pedro Mayorga from EnerOcean. Together with Fidel, they explored the growing strategic importance of the sea as a driver of economic diversification, technological development, and environmentally responsible growth. The discussion touched on topics such as the digital transformation of maritime industries, the valorisation of marine resources, the energy transition, and the potential of emerging technologies to reshape the sector.

During the round table, Fidel Delgado highlighted Neoalgae’s work in the field of marine biotechnology and the importance of collaborative frameworks between public and private stakeholders. The event also provided the ideal context to share updates on the IMPRESS project, in which Neoalgae plays an active role. The project focuses on developing new processes for biomass valorisation and sustainable solutions that can be applied across various blue economy sectors.

At Neoalgae, we believe that initiatives like “Naval Azul” are essential to building a shared vision for the future of the maritime ecosystem. The blue economy not only represents an opportunity for economic growth, but also a pathway toward more responsible and environmentally conscious development models.

We would like to express our appreciation to the City Council for the invitation and excellent organization, and to our fellow panelists for the valuable exchange. Neoalgae remains committed to driving innovation, strengthening cooperation, and promoting the sea as a key engine for sustainable progress.
