Neoalgae was one of the keynote speakers at the information session organized by the Sekuens Agency in conjunction with the Center for Technological Development and Innovation (CDTI) on Horizon Europe thanks to its participation in the IMPRESS project: INNOVATIVE APPROACHES FOR MARINE AND FRESHWATER-BASED INGREDIENTS TO DEVELOP SUSTAINABLE FOODS AND VALUE CHAINS.

During the conference, María Álvarez, Neoalgae’s R&D Director, explained to the attendees the objective of the European IMPRESS project as well as the latest research Neoalgae is conducting to achieve results in the IMPRESS project. This session was part of a series of informative talks on European 2024 projects and calls for proposals on “Food, Bioeconomy, Natural Resources, Agriculture and Environment” and “Climate,” highlighting the IMPRESS project and Neoalgae’s participation as a success story.

Neoalgae, more than 10 years of innovation from Asturias
Neoalgae has positioned itself as a biotechnology leader in the cultivation and development of microalgae with a strong environmental commitment. It is a pioneer in the development of microalgae applications and cultivation, and also brings innovative products to market through its various brands and business lines. Its operational headquarters are in a modern, energy-self-sufficient plant in Gijón, comprised of greenhouses for the cultivation of different microalgae species, specialized laboratories, a natural cosmetics manufacturing plant, and a recently opened office building that has increased the plant’s technical capacity. It also holds 9 patents, 12 awards, 18 certifications, and nearly 40 R&D projects. It is certified by the FSSC 22000 standard, which guarantees the quality of its products.
